Beveling Glass & Installation

Glass beveling is a process used to create a decorative edge on glass pieces, typically for mirrors, windows, or glass tabletops. It involves grinding and polishing the edges of the glass at an angle, usually around 45 degrees, to create a sloping surface known as a bevel. This angled edge refracts light and adds dimensionality to the glass, giving it a more elegant and sophisticated appearance.

Beveling machines are used in this process, equipped with diamond-grinding wheels to precisely grind the edges of the glass to the desired angle and shape. After grinding, the edges are polished to achieve a smooth and shiny finish.

Beveled glass is often used in decorative applications such as in furniture, doors, and architectural elements like windows and panels. It adds a touch of style and visual interest to the glass, enhancing its aesthetic appeal.

Beveled Glass is usually made by taking thick Glass and creating an angled surface cut (bevel) around the entire periphery. Bevels act as prisms in the sunlight creating an interesting color diffraction which both highlights the Glass work and provides a spectrum of colors which would ordinarily be absent in clear float Glass.
